This book is published “to lay bare the basic judicial precedent espousing the current position of law in relation to land law and practice in Nigeria.” Thus it has set out on a case law approach to lay bare the basic judicial precedent espousing the current position of the law in the subject area. In doing this, great reliance was placed primarily on the judgment of the supreme court of Nigeria, being the apex court whose decision are binding on all other courts in Nigeria.
This with a view to produce a user friendly manual that will assist everybody engaged in land use, development, administration and courtroom litigation, either as claimant or defence counsel.
Basic principle on Land law and practice in Nigeria have been dealt with in this book. This we believed has to a large extent covered most of the everyday issues encouraged in the subject area. The Land Use Act has been annexed to the text for ease of reference.
