This book has set out on a case law approach to lay bare the basic judicial precedent espousing the current position of the law in relation “to Evidence Law and Practice in Nigeria.” Thus it has set out on a case law approach to lay plain the basic judicial precedents promoting the current position of law in the subject area. In doing this, great reliance was placed, primarily, on the judgments of the Supreme Court of Nigeria, (the highest appeal court) whose decisions are binding on all courts in Nigeria. This with a view to produce a user friendly manual that will assist everybody engaged in litigation, either as claimant, defence, or prosecuting counsel.
Basic principles on law and practice of evidence in Nigeria have been dealt with in this book. This we believe has , to a large extent, covered most of the everyday issues encountered in the subject area. The Evidence Act, 2011 has been annexed to the text for ease of reference.
